Starting condition

What needed to change

Many formats, programming strands and venue moments had to feel related without becoming visually repetitive.

A festival identity appears in quick social announcements, detailed programme pages, large environmental graphics and moving screen content. Kerry Film Festival needed enough consistency to remain recognisable across those settings, but enough flexibility to let individual films and strands retain their character. The work therefore had to create a usable hierarchy for information as well as a distinctive cultural expression for the event.

Design response

The organizing idea

A flexible visual language connected programme information, motion cues and physical festival applications.

Brand strategy, identity, motion design, print architecture and environmental graphics were developed as one system. The logo and typography established a recognisable centre, while programme hierarchy helped audiences move through schedules and strands. Motion and venue assets extended the same language beyond the page, allowing digital screens, promotional material and event environments to feel part of one coherent festival rather than separate campaigns.

Published process

How the work moved

The printed programme was treated as both a working guide and an object audiences might keep.

We organised schedules, strands and supporting content around reader flow before refining the page rhythm and visual character. Each spread had to work in sequence and as a strong standalone moment. Projector inspired movement then carried that language into motion and environmental applications, linking the tactile programme with screens and venue touchpoints while keeping essential event information straightforward to use.
